Amino Apps - Part 1

Operations, Content and Influencers, Oh My!

Ahh, Amino. Where to start?

The people. It was definitely the people. Whether it was the warm faces of my fellow coworkers or the vast and varying content creators and users I interacted with on a daily basis, my time on the Growth team at Amino Apps tops the charts as one of the most socially invigorating experiences I’ve ever had on the clock.

Here was where I truly came into my marketing skills professionally, fusing the steadfastness I’d developed from the hectic and high volume sales settings of yore with the technological proficiency, wide range of expertise, creative strategy and decidely niche interest, that is my past, present and future.

Amino is an app which is pushing way past 20M installs that serves to provide a mobile and constantly evolving platform for people with niche, geeky interests to do what they do best: contemplate, converse, and create.

Major events during my time here:

  • A massive prospecting expansion project, where I was tasked with simultaneously widening and refining my team’s scope and agency over a wide range of interests. I helped create and launch two new verticals during this period of time, and also reorganized the entire taxonomy of my team’s prospecting method.

  • A hyper targeted re-engagement centered video outreach program to reach higher tier influencers on a personalized basis, where I got to script, voice, edit, and and produce personalized messages to notable persons on our target wishlist!

  • The next stop on this journey was content and influencer marketing! While maintaining this prospecting expansion, I was also tasked with commissioning a wide variety of content creators for the new Stories feature, vertical videos very similar to TikToks. The central goal was to furnish the app with content in line with the vision of the company, and develop the overall quality of user content on app. Big accomplishments during this period were collaborating with directors on the growth team to both help establish and refine the playbook for what good content looks like for the vertical, and managing a crack team of freelance creators to whip up solid content at top speed and quality.

  • During this period of time, I was fully pulled into the world of Influencer Marketing, commissioning, negotiating and editing promotions with Youtubers and micro-influencers of various audience sizes for the Stories feature. Over the course of just one month, I launched 33 unique activations, yielding approximately 16,000+ app installs!
